Is 2012 your year to become an author?

The Unconventional Guide to PublishingIt’s not often that I recommend a product on Peaceful Planet. But when I do, it’s because it’s so good that a lot of you will want to know about it. And in this case, there’s special launch pricing and some other goodies for the early birds, so I want to make sure you have that option.

I’ll get right to it and keep it short.

Twenty-year veteran literary agent David Fulgate and Chris Guillebeau have developed the Unconventional Guide to Publishing as a comprehensive resource to help anyone who is interested in writing, selling, and publishing a book.

It’s a 45,000 word mega-manual—that’s the length of a long novella, almost a novel. It’s in PDF format and includes interviews (in MP3 format) and transcripts along with free updates for the life of the guide.

There are three versions to choose from, and the higher-priced versions include additional resources for those who want to benefit from them. For a limited time, “The Hemingway” version features a 25% discount, and all versions include access to a special Q&A call with David Fulgate during this time period.

Here are some of the questions that the Unconventional Guide to Publishing will answer:

  • So you want to write a book…what’s next?
  • How can you attract interest in your book idea?
  • How do you write a compelling book proposal? (And do you even need a proposal?)
  • How do you find an agent?
  • What are the benefits and drawbacks of different kinds of publishing? (Why not just self-publish?)
  • What three questions should I ask about any book contract?
  • How does the growth of online publishing affect print books?

And there’s so much more.

I have most of Chris’s other “Unconventional Guides,” including the Empire Building Kit which I bought on its initial launch 18 months ago. It’s amazing; it was like having a coach send me spot-on, practical advice to my inbox every day for an entire year, plus there are all sorts of other helpful resources and information.

I also have his book The Art of Non-Conformity, and the Unconventional Guide to Publishing is just as informative, thorough, and inspiring as everything else Chris has produced.

I met Chris on his book tour last year, and I wasn’t surprised to find that he’s just as warm, genuine, and smart in person as he is in his writing. I’m excited to see his latest amazing endeavor come to fruition.

Guess what I’ll be reading over the next week or two? I just finished the rough draft of a novel in November, and this is just what I need.

I’m proud to be an affiliate for Chris, which means that if you buy through me I’ll earn a commission. This helps me to not only bring you ideas and inspiration for peaceful living, it also means I can attend workshops like the one I’ll be at next week for “non-violent communication.” I’m looking forward to telling you about it.

And of course there’s no obligation—the Unconventional Guide to Publishing isn’t for everyone. But I know that some of you are writers and bloggers with big aspirations, and this might be just what you need.

Until next time! Stay tuned.

Comments are always welcome.

I am really tempted to get his guides, I subscribe to his newsletter. But I think I’ll start with his book, which unfortunately isn’t available here locally. :)

Hi Vera,

His book is a great place to start, especially if you’re running or planning to run a business or do something that’s not quite “the usual.” All depends what your goals are. For me, I don’t have his travel hacking guide, for example, since I’m not currently in a position to travel much! The book is available right on his site, which you probably know http://chrisguillebeau.com/

Have a great day and nice to see you! :)
